TAKEOFF & LANDING

Taxi gently out of your hangar first. Follow the yellow line to the runway and line up toward the mountains. Then apply full power and pull back at rotation speed. Retract gear with G / tap L3 after climbing clear. For landing, reduce power, lower the gear, line up with a runway and touch down gently with wings level. Hold B / LT to brake to a stop.

KESTREL VERTICAL FLIGHT

Press H / hold L3 for 0.65 seconds to toggle VTOL. Throttle above 55% climbs; 55% holds a level hover. Ease below 55% to descend. Lower the gear before touching down.

STEP OUT & EXPLORE

Park on the ground and stop before leaving your aircraft: press E or hold Y / △ for 0.65 seconds. Walk with WASD / left stick and look with the mouse / right stick. Return beside the aircraft and use the same action to board.

COMBAT CONTROLS & REARMING

Tap D-pad Right to toggle sustained afterburner / maximum power; tap again or press D-pad Down to cancel. Hold R3 and move the right stick to scan around your tail, including above and below. Release R3 to return forward. Missiles are finite: land at an airfield, stop with gear down, switch VTOL off, and reduce throttle below 25%. Stay parked for 15 seconds to replenish missiles, cannon rounds and flares.

Engine sound follows turbine spool, thrust, airspeed, landing gear and VTOL. Cockpit view softens the outside roar. Alerts include stalls, incoming missiles and low terrain.
